My experience + photos

Ben Nevis is a challenging and enduring hike as you work your way up the rocky steep track. Starting from Ben Nevis visitor centre, the route is super easy to follow. There are many places of rest along the way and the views are great below the cloud. The path becomes more rugged as you gain elevation, the clouds can feel as though they're descending and visibility can be extremely poor. I would recommend having a map in waterproof covering or a downloadable map.

Route Guide

The mountain track route is a very direct route but does have a lot of switchbacks. The path is very clear to see it begins with a steady incline before transitioning into long zig-zag sections. The upper section can be exposed with loose rocks and often poor visibility.
